Visualizing in Vancouver
At the end of October this year, visualization researchers from all around the world will gather at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, BC, Canada for the annual celebration of world-class visualization research known as IEEE VIS. The Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory at University of Maryland will be among them with a strong showing of six full papers at the three flagship events — IEEE SciVis (scientific visualization concerned with spatial and volumetric data from engineering or medical applications), IEEE InfoVis (information visualization involving abstract data with no given visual representation), and IEEE VAST (visual analytics that combines visual interfaces with automatic algorithms and machine learning methods) — as well as papers in co-located workshops and symposia.
